What a day porter does
A day porter works while your property is occupied. The role is responsive and visible: keeping entrances and lobbies presentable, running restroom rounds, restocking consumables, clearing visible trash, cleaning touchpoints, resetting meeting and break areas, responding to spills, and reporting facility issues before a tenant or guest does.
Typical responsibilities
Lobby and entrance upkeep, including glass, mats, and seating. Restroom inspections and touch up on a set round schedule. Consumable monitoring and restocking. Common area appearance checks. Visible trash removal and liner changes. Touchpoint cleaning throughout the day. Breakroom and meeting room resets. Light spill response. Supply level monitoring and reorder alerts. Facility issue reporting through the app. Maintenance and incident escalation to your designated contact.
Schedules built per property
Coverage can be a few hours around peak traffic, a full business day, or a split schedule. Days per week, hours, and round frequency are set during the walkthrough and written into the scope. Responsibilities are customized by property; a medical clinic lobby and a hotel lobby do not run the same round.
Accountability you can see
Background checks are required for all field staff. Porters arrive in uniform with a badge. Attendance and location are verified through our workforce app. Rounds are logged on a mobile checklist, so you can see what was done and when. A field supervisor inspects on a recurring schedule and your account contact answers directly.
What day porter service is not
